Lifewise Provides Biblically based character development during school time and we are thrilled to be launching this coming school year available at Toth and Woodland Elementary.
Is teaching the Bible during the school day really legal?
A: Yes! The concept of released time religious instruction has been upheld multiple times at the U.S. Supreme Court. Released time guidelines both guard against government establishment of any one religion and allow expression of the right to the “free exercise of religion,” also protected by the First Amendment.
Does LifeWise interfere with classes during the school day?
A: No, while classes are held during the school day, they do not interfere with children’s mandatory courses or extracurricular activities. The class schedule is set by school personnel in consultation with LifeWise representatives. Woodland, students will attend during specials at Toth it is during lunch/recess.
How often are LifeWise classes?
A: Typically, students attend LifeWise once per week for a class lasting between 45 minutes and one hour.

Session 2 Grief and Loss
This looks different for everyone. Grief can be the loss of a loved one, the loss of an ideal or expectation, the loss of a valued relationship as well as other significant life changes. We will discuss the stages of Grief, what affects this loss has had on our life and what strengths we possess to support ourselves. We will work on being okay with where we are at with the grief or loss that we are experiencing.
Art: Can help forge a connection between the body and mind. We will be using color in a therapeutic way to express our thoughts and feelings.
Wednesday, September 27, 7-8:30 pm
Session 3 -Anxiety
We lived through a pandemic that has had a lasting impact on us. As we move forward we may notice we are more anxious than in the past due to major life changes. We will look at our own experiences with anxiety and our own reactions to the pandemic and how we are coping.
Art: Using stencils and colored pencils to create calming, abstract art.
Wednesday, October 4, 7-8:30 pm
Session 4- Re-inventing yourself and Goal Setting
Assessing where you are at in life and where you want to be. What are things that stand in our way? How do we turn goals into reality? Moving forward and letting go of past.
Art: Part of goal setting is to break things down into manageable steps and share them with others. Participants will begin a vision board highlighting some of the goals they have set.
Wednesday, October 11, 7-8:30pm
Session 5- Co-dependency-Defining and understanding co-dependency.
Exploring what we are experiencing in our relationships and strategies for setting boundaries and focusing on our own growth. Where do we want to see change in our relationships?
Art: Used as a safe way to express our thoughts and feelings, really focusing on ourselves rather than others, and really working through the need for perfection. Art: Experimenting with art as a coping tool using watercolors and pastels.
