Alternate Transportation Services

Dear Parents/Guardians,

For many years alternate transportation services have been utilized throughout the school district to assist families with multiple schedules. The district had been successful in accommodating requests to multiple addresses when student enrollment was lower.

Unfortunately, continuing to offer alternate transportation service to multiple addresses has become increasingly difficult over the last few years. Contributing factors include safety, student population growth in our community, driver shortages, and economic challenges for efficiently transporting students daily.

We understand this may inconvenience families. However, for student safety and to ensure we are able to provide efficient transportation services, we must limit alternate transportation requests for riders to one morning bus route assignment, and one afternoon bus route assignment. These requests may include daycare facilities. This new practice will start with the 2024/2025 school year.

Example:
Student A
AM Bus Route: Daycare Facility
PM Bus Route: Student Residential Address

Student B
AM Bus Route: Student Residential Address
PM Bus Route: Alternate Address within the School Boundary

Reminder:
Alternate assignments must be located in the school's transportation boundary.
Alternate Transportation requests must be filled out YEARLY, two weeks prior to the start of school.
