Perrysburg Schools releases Vision 2020 Strategic Plan

From September to December, a Core Planning Team worked diligently to craft the foundational pillars of our new strategic plan, Vision 2020. The team of 30 included Board Members, employees and community members. They examined the issues and most critical needs of the school district, and then developed vision and mission statements and a set of core value statements to clearly state the passion, commitment and purpose of the school district. The team also developed four broad district goals and objectives to set the focus for the school district’s work over the next three to five years. A summary may be found at this link.

The four Goal Area Champions are now forming Action Teams to set Action Steps. The initial Action Plans will be submitted to the Steering Committee by the end of the school year. The Steering Committee includes: all Board of Education Members, Superintendent, Treasurer, Executive Director of HR & Operations, Executive Director of Teaching & Learning and Director of Communications. Each Goal Area Champion will present an update on their Action Plan annually (for the next three to five years of this plan) to the Board of Education. The schedule will be as follows:
• Facilities – August Regular Board Meeting – Goal Area Champion: Thomas L. Hosler, Superintendent
• Academic Needs – September Regular Board Meeting – Goal Area Champion: Kadee Anstadt, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning
• Finance – October Regular Board Meeting – Goal Area Champion: Pam Harrington, Treasurer
• Human Capital and Resources – November Regular Board Meeting – Goal Area Champion: Aura Norris, Executive Director of Human Resources and Operations

Goal Area Champions will update the Action Plan twice a year, for their annual presentation and six months after their presentation. After the initial Board Presentation in Fall 2017, the Action Plans will be made public on the school district’s web site.
