PHS Biology Teachers host Regional Conference

On February 26-27, the Perrysburg High School Biology teachers hosted Ann Brokaw, an educational ambassador for Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) for a two-day workshop that highlighted educational resources biology teachers may use in their classroom. The first day of the conference focused on activities for first year Biology courses. 48 teachers from throughout Ohio, Michigan and New York attended. The second day focused on AP Biology activities. 23 educators from this same region attended, including three college professors.

The conference was free to all educators. Each attendee received DVDs, posters and a variety of resources for their classroom. PHS Biology teachers in attendance included: Ryan DeLauter, Kevin English, Kelly Maxwell, Brooke Russell and Scott Sorg. Presenter Ann Brokaw is an AP Biology teacher from Rocky River, Ohio. HHMI, located in Chevy Chase, Maryland, donates millions of dollars each year for scientific research and to help promote science education.
