Contact Tracing

Good Afternoon Families and Employees,
We are so grateful for your understanding, patience and help over the last 15 weeks of school. By all accounts, the next few weeks may be the most challenging for schools in Ohio, as conveyed in recent communications by Governor DeWine and the Wood County Health Department. Since August, the school district has relied not only on state, regional, county and zip code data, we have also had a team building a database for the school district and each individual building. This data is critical in helping us make the best decisions moving forward. While we are remote learning for the next two weeks, we need your help.
As we transition into our Thanksgiving Remote Learning Plan, we would like to ask families and our employees to continue to report any diagnosis of COVID-19 and contact with individuals who are positive by emailing covidsupport@perrysburgschools.net. This step will help the school district better monitor and plan for the students’ return on December 8. Under the direction of the Wood County Health Department, we are continuing to conduct contact tracing as necessary to better understand the spread in our community and to help support their efforts to fight the spread.
Even though school is remote, we need this information to prevent spread in school-sponsored activities that may continue to occur as well as upon return from remote learning by ensuring individuals who were exposed do not re-enter our facilities until it is safe to do so.
We are proud of our students for what they have done while in school in taking the steps necessary to reduce the spread. While outside of school, we anticipate some students may also continue to interact with one another outside of school-sponsored events and may spread COVID-19 within those social settings. We ask everyone to follow distancing, hand washing and facial covering guidelines at all times.
We encourage you to visit the Wood County Health Department’s Holiday Planning page and to take their quiz to determine how safe your Thanksgiving plans are:
