Central Office Reorganization

Perrysburg Schools is pleased to announce a reorganization of its Central Office that will be effective for the 2017-2018 school year. These changes are a result of the Board of Education’s continued work on its strategic plan, Vision 2020, and will help to keep pace with the rapid growth the school district has been experiencing.

Kadee Anstadt, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning for Perrysburg Schools, is being recommended for a newly created Assistant Superintendent position.

“We’re delighted to have someone of Mrs. Anstadt’s caliber and experience to establish this key position for the school district,” stated W. Jarman Davis, President, Perrysburg Board of Education. “As our strategic planning has been focused on keeping up with growth and building in the schools and community in the most fiscally responsible way to the taxpayers, this plan does just that.”

Brent Swartzmiller, Principal at Perrysburg Junior High School, has been asked to move into the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning position. He has served as Principal of the Junior High since 2015, and before that he was principal of Frank Elementary School for seven years. Before joining Perrysburg Schools, Mr. Swartzmiller was Assistant Principal of Athletics and Activities at Maumee High School.

“Mr. Swartzmiller will bring a valuable skillset to our Central Office team,” stated Thomas L. Hosler, Superintendent. “His breadth of experience and passion for helping students will help him transfer seamlessly into this new role.”

Don Christie, Assistant Principal of Perrysburg Junior High, will fill the PJHS Principal position. He has served as Assistant Principal at PJHS since the 2014-2015 school year. Before joining Perrysburg Schools, Mr. Christie was the Assistant Principal at Benton-Carroll-Salem Middle School for nine years.

“Mr. Christie will be a fantastic principal for Perrysburg Junior High School,” Mr. Swartzmiller stated. “He is great at establishing relationships with staff, parents and—most importantly—students. You can bet that the best interest of our students will be his number one priority.”

Additionally, Joe Sarnes, former Technology Integration Specialist in the Teaching and Learning Department, has moved into the position of Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning. Mr. Sarnes has been with the district since 1991. He taught at Fort Meigs Elementary School from 1991 to 2012, and has spent the last five years as the Technology Integration Specialist.

This reorganization will not result in the creation of any additional positions in Central Office, as the Technology Integration Specialist position is being eliminated. The Board will be asked to approve this plan at its next regularly scheduled meeting.

The Board of Education plans to continue work on its Strategic Plan, exploring ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in an ever-growing district, to ensure all students achieve their greatest potential.
