School Board names Benington to Vacant Seat

Eric BeningtonPerrysburg Board of Education today named Eric Benington to join the Board, effective September 6, 2016. The School Board had a vacancy due to the resignation of Cal Smith on August 15, 2016. Mr. Benington’s seat on the school board will expire on December 31, 2017.

Interviews were held today, Thursday, September 1, 2016, with the ten applicants: Eric Benington, Michael Bosworth, John Brown, Christopher Gail, Missy Madigan, David Matolyak, Dale Price, Susan Rowland Miller, Mandy Sinclair-Nitschke and Virginia Thompson Luce.

The Board made the decision in open session after all interviews were complete.

“We are honored to have named Eric to join us on the Board of Education,” stated Jarman Davis, Board President. “His experience and qualifications makes him an ideal fit for our team, and we are looking forward to working with him.”

“The Board of Education is very thankful to all ten highly qualified community members for stepping up to offer to fill this position,” Davis explained. “It was an incredibly difficult decision and we are honored by each candidate’s willingness to ensure our students achieve their greatest potential.”

Eric and his wife, Brandie, are the parents of two Perrysburg Schools students. He is Chief Financial Officer of the Rudolph Libbe Companies Inc., one of the largest providers of construction services in the country. Mr. Benington has over 23 years of financial and operational experience in the professional services, banking and real estate industries. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has a master’s degree in business administration. He served on the Perrysburg Schools Strategic Facilities Committee, has been Treasurer of Citizens for Perrysburg Schools since 2010 and is treasurer of Perrysburg Orchestra Boosters.
