Community Engagement Sessions - Elementary Boundaries
Perrysburg Schools will host community engagement sessions, open to all stakeholders, to present and discuss the redrawing of elementary school boundaries. Due to the recent operating levy defeat, Perrysburg Schools is facing a 17% budget reduction, forcing school district personnel to make tough decisions to maintain quality education.
In an effort to maximize building space, gain better efficiencies with staff utilization and bus routes, and delay the need to purchase additional classroom trailers, redrawing elementary school boundaries has been identified as one step that will result in needed cost savings and equitable and efficient use of our resources. These changes would take effect at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
All Perrysburg residents who would like to review the options available for the new elementary boundaries plan, and would like to ask questions and offer feedback, are invited to participate in one of the following ways:
Two Options to Participate In-Person
? Thursday, February 6 at 7:00 pm at PJHS Auditorium (550 East South Boundary St.)
? Monday, February 10 at 7:00 pm at the Commodore Building (140 E. Indiana Ave.)
Virtual Community Engagement
People who are not able to attend in-person will be able to access the information and offer their feedback in the same capacity as in-person attendees. The information will be recorded and posted to the Perrysburg Schools YouTube channel and all materials, presentations and survey will be available on
www.perrysburgschools.net. A message will be sent to families when these materials are posted.
While we know this change is not easy, it is critical for preserving resources and ensuring equitable support for all students. We are committed to transparency and value community input in this process.
A recommendation for the redistricting plan will be presented and recommended to the Board of Education at the next regular meeting on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 5:45 p.m. at the Commodore Building.
