Student Spotlight
Clara Humphrey
4th Grade
Toth Elementary School

Girl smilingClara Humphrey is a 4th grader at Toth Elementary School. She is an amazing example of how to behave at school but more importantly how to value every person around you. Her heart for others expands beyond her friends and teachers at Toth. As a third-grader, Clara decided to make a difference in our community. She put together a team of third graders, found a need in our community, came up with a plan and ended with over 1,400 items that were donated. The donations were delivered to the local Ronald McDonald House and the Family House.Clara and her team of third graders gave up their daily recess for two weeks to collect, sort, count and organize the items. They also made daily announcements, and even held an ice cream sundae party for the class with the most donations. The ice cream sundae party was planned to keep the students at Toth motivated to keep donating. Clara and her crew spent countless hours planning, counting, sorting and finally delivering their items to those in need. They also served ice cream to the class with the most donations. The team of third graders also worked with a local quilting group to tie blankets that were made for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House.Clara is simply amazing! She is always doing things for others, making sure kids have someone to play with at recess and is always willing to help anyone in need. Her generous spirit and kind-hearted personality motivated an entire school to do more for others. “I am super proud of Clara for making such an awesome impact in our building, and our community,” shared Jason Koval M.A., LPCC, School Counselor, Toth Elementary School. “She is a leader by example, through word and deed. She is the kind of student who you hope all the other students see and desire to emulate. She is a great example of what it means to live by the Jacket Way.”

Outside of school, Clara plays tennis at the Perrysburg Tennis Center and basketball through Perrysburg Junior Jackets. She loves service projects and even helped pull weeds at Secor Metropark this past spring and will be making Weekender Food Bags with the Islamic Food Bank in September.

We are so proud of you, Clara!
