Student Spotlight
Tenley Winter
5th Grade
Hull Prairie Intermediate School

“Our team is very lucky to have wonderful students, and Tenley Winter stands out as a shining example of what the Jacket Way embodies. The quote, ‘We rise by lifting others’ comes to mind when we think of her. She is always respectful, responsible and ready, but what makes her stand out the most is her inclusive spirit. She seeks out opportunities to help others find success and we are stronger because of it. She finds opportunities to encourage and inspire others and has collaborated with a peer to create a video about acceptance that we shared during a team meeting earlier this year. We can count on her to be a team player in the classroom and beyond. She is a stellar soccer player and a well-rounded individual. Although she is very talented, she is humble about her many gifts. All of these positive attributes certainly make Tenley a student worth shining a spotlight on!”

We’re so proud of you, Tenley!

person smilling“PJHS is fortunate to have a dedicated and committed teacher like Mrs. Krueger,” shared Don Christie, Principal, Perrysburg Junior High School. “She works hard to ensure that students have a positive, successful experience and goes above and beyond with her work with the Girls in STEM Club and her work on the PJHS Prairie. Her professional learning and high standards for student learning and achievement positively impacts students on a daily basis. We are fortunate to have Mrs. Krueger at PJHS!”

Mrs. Krueger is one of the cofounders of the Girls STEM Club at PJHS. 20 or so 7th and 8th grade girls engage in authentic hands-on experiences with support from local resources like NASA, Kelsey Island, Gibraltar Island, BGSU, UT and Toledo Zoo.

The PJHS Prairie (a 2-acre native prairie) is becoming a reality under the leadership of Mrs. Krueger with support from the Toledo Zoo, Perrysburg Schools Foundation and community supporters. This space will be a community resource and provide outdoor learning for students.

She has served on state curriculum committees (both standards and model curriculum) to support state curriculum guidelines in science by working with stakeholders from within the business and academic disciplines.

Mrs. Krueger is an Honorary Rotarian for Teaching and Leadership and she is active in pursuing her own professional growth by attending a Modeling Conference last summer, being an AMTA Member and an NSTA Member. Mrs. Krueger is also a published author and has a Master’s Degree in Education.

Thank you for all you do for our students, Mrs. Krueger!
