Nathan Thompson
12th Grade
Perrysburg High School
 
young man smilingNathan Thompson, a senior at Perrysburg High School, is 1 of 6 Semifinalists from the senior class in the National Merit Scholarship program, which is based on his performance on the PSAT. Nathan earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT.
 
Nathan is also a dedicated soccer player, traveling to Columbus four days per week to play for an elite soccer club. Nathan has committed to Oberlin College to play on their soccer team.
 
“Nathan is the epitome of the Jacket Way,” shared Lindsay Czech, Director of College Advising, Perrysburg High School. “Because of his demanding training schedule, he has had to be extremely responsible with his school work. He has to plan ahead to be ready for class. He is kind and respectful to both students and staff members.”

Julie Mackett
Kindergarten Teacher
Fort Meigs Elementary School
 
Woman smiling holding award“Julie Mackett, Kindergarten Teacher at Fort Meigs Elementary School, exudes professionalism in the highest form and is a true team player,” shared Mr. Marjoe Cooper, Principal, Fort Meigs Elementary School. “She is always willing to help and go above and beyond her day-to-day responsibilities. She can often be seen helping families and her colleagues whenever the need arises and was recently awarded our Staff Member of the Month! She has always had the students’ best interest in mind and we are very lucky to have her on staff.”

Christie Bellfy: “Julie is always willing to step in and help when needed. She reaches out to others to check in on them and offer help, insight or a listening ear. Julie is an asset to our school and a critical member of the Fort Meigs kindergarten team.”
 
Callie Preslan: “Julie is the most caring and giving person. She puts in so much extra effort and time to her students and her colleagues. She is always in a great mood and does fun and interactive lessons with her students. She goes above and beyond to form relationships with families and cares about the whole child. She is a gift to Perrysburg Schools.”
