The Noah Ninja's Destroying Duchene All Around Gymnastics Meet
The Jacket Gymnasts held their senior day when they hosted The Noah Ninja's Destroying Duchene All Around Meet at the Perrysburg YMCA Gymnastics Center. Congrats to our graduating seniors on all their accomplishments – Grace Leonard, Anna Miller and Julia Rajner!

The Perrysburg High School Gymnastics Team started hosting this meet in January 2020 to bring awareness to Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a disease that head coach Mykel Zwayer’s son, Noah, has. Duchenne is a progressive muscle wasting disorder. It is caused by a genetic mutation that prevents the body from producing dystrophin, a protein that muscles need to work properly. Without dystrophin, muscle cells become damaged and weaken. Over time, children with Duchenne will lose their ability to walk and their arm function will also decrease. Currently there is no cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
