Leah Albring, Julia Vickers and Amelia Ballert (pictured L to R), 4th Grade Students at Toth Elementary School, organized a school-wide glove drive to collect new gloves to donate to a local shelter.

 

The students coordinated the glove drive and challenged the students in each classroom to hit tiered goals for the classrooms and set a building-wide goal for the entire school.

 

When the glove drive ended, the students went around to the classrooms that hit the different tiers for the number of gloves collected and presented the classrooms with certificates and announced the different rewards.

 

The Toth Elementary Students and Employees collected 580 pairs of gloves in all!

We wish Deb Drew, Perrysburg High School English Teacher, all the best as she retires at the end of this school year after 32 years at PHS. Ms. Drew began her career at Perrysburg in 1989, with her first seniors being the class of 1990. Early in her career, she taught primarily 9th and 12^th grade English, and in more recent years she has taught only 12^th graders. She has served as the assistant director of PHS Theatre, been a Student Council class advisor each year, helped with After-Prom and been involved with many other activities that have made the experience at PHS so memorable.

 

“Deb Drew has had the opportunity to impact the lives of approximately 4,000 students in her career,” shared Michael P. Short, Ed.D., Principal, Perrysburg High School. “As with every good teacher, she leaves a part of who she is with each of them. Each of these students has been improved by that exchange. Deb has also had that effect on her colleagues. We are all better people for having had the pleasure to work with her.”
