AJ Bach
Class of 2021
Perrysburg High School
 
Student smiling wearing "Ohio State" shirtAJ Bach is a member of the PHS Class of 2021 who is the epitome of an excellent student. He is joyful, friendly, determined, eager to learn, has a positive attitude and is always respectful and kind. AJ truly embodies the values of the Jacket Way at PHS!
 
Since transferring to Perrysburg Schools his freshman year, AJ has sought out various opportunities to become actively involved in the Perrysburg community, both in and outside of school. AJ has been an invaluable member of the PHS theatre program, participating in several productions throughout his high school career as part of the tech crew, set crew or as an actor on stage. He has also participated in other extracurricular activities at PHS such as Jacket Friends, Social Connections Club and Track and Field.
 
Outside of school, AJ has been involved in several community activities, such as Young Life, baseball, basketball, volleyball, swimming and bodybuilding. He has also volunteered at The Heights Community Center doing food distribution for the Islamic Food Bank of Toledo and volunteering his DJ services at different community events. Recently, AJ was awarded a microgrant check to support his dream of setting up his own DJ business!
 
AJ has achieved a great balance of success with both his extracurriculars and academics. In the classroom, AJ always works hard and strives for success in everything he does. AJ is a responsible student, who is dependable, not only with his school work, but also in his ability to encourage and inspire others. His friends, peers and teachers are able to rely on him to remain responsible, supportive and compassionate. AJ is not only an outstanding student in the classroom but also an outstanding citizen. He is kind and friendly to everyone and goes out of his way to help others.

Marissa Dombrowsky
Assistant to Development, Pupil Services, Teaching & Learning

Smiling headshotMarissa Dombrowsky, Assistant to Development, Pupil Services, Teaching & Learning, works in the Board of Education offices. Her job responsibilities include:
• Assist Development Department by processing donations to the school district and Perrysburg Schools Foundation, reviewing fundraiser requests and processing scholarship payments to graduating seniors.
• Assist Pupil Services Department with creating documents and forms for school district use and professional development planning.
• Assist Teaching & Learning Department with various projects, including student teacher placement coordination and issuing professional development credit to instructional staff members.
 
“Marissa is such a blessing to our department,” shared Sara Stockwell, Ed.S., Director of Student Services and Well-Being. “Not only is she someone we can rely on to be efficient, accurate and organized, but she juggles the work of multiple departments with ease and grace. She is also an incredibly kind and supportive person both professionally and personally, so we are very grateful for her. Something you may not know about Marissa is that she is very talented at art, too!”
 
“Marissa is a vibrant individual who is always a pleasure to be around,” shared Brent Swartzmiller, Executive Director of Teaching & Learning, Perrysburg Schools. “No matter the tasks asked of her, Marissa's attitude is positive and upbeat. This cannot be minimized as this impacts our entire work environment.”
 
“Marissa is such a pleasure to work with,” shared Jeff Abke ’96, Director of Development, Perrysburg Schools. “She helps make sure that we are able to do everything we do at such a high level. Her friendliness and professionalism are felt by all of the audiences she interacts with – for our office that means alumni, booster group leaders, donors and staff members.”
 
When she’s not at work, Ms. Dombrowsky is probably at a dirt bike track with her husband, taking her dog for a walk, gardening or working on new items for her Etsy shop – acrylic paintings, handmade greeting cards and hand-painted drinkware, including glasses and mugs.
