Jordan Hood is a strong student leader at Perrysburg Jr. High. Not only is he exceptionally talented, but he is also a great role model for his fellow students. He is an 8th grader who truly embodies Jacket pride. Jordan is highly motivated and participates in numerous school activities, including H.I.P.P. (High Impact Peer Program, which focuses on anti-bullying and developing leadership and self-confidence), the talent show, Golden Jackets Show Choir, Cross Country and most recently as Albert Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie. Jordan also serves as a student accompanist for the 6th grade choirs. He was selected to participate in Bowling Green State University’s Middle School Honors Choir and participated in the Solo & Ensemble Festival, receiving Superior and Excellent ratings. Jordan exemplifies the Jacket Way and is an outstanding leader in our school community!
Scott Sorg has redesigned his biology classes this year to put lab-based data collection in the forefront, which leads to deeper class discussions and strong student engagement. Once the data is collected, the class, facilitated by Mr. Sorg, discusses the results and how they fit in with the readings. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Sorg is Assistant Baseball Coach—building Jacket Pride throughout the school community. He also is the volunteer PHS School District Wellness Committee Representative. He recently championed his 100+ coworkers though a 6-Week Wellness Challenge. Thanks for all you do to innovate, help out and collaborate, Mr. Sorg!
