Employee Spotlight
Laurie Barteck, RN
Health Aide
Woodland Elementary School

Laurie Barteck, RN, Health Aide at Woodland Elementary School, is the embodiment of service, compassion and care. She cares deeply about the school and all the students and employees. “Throughout one of the most difficult years, Laurie supported and led the school community and served as a calming and reassuring force,” shared Michael C. Salwiesz, Ph.D., Principal, Woodland Elementary School.
Laurie leads with her heart, being there for anyone and everyone regardless of what else is happening. Every single time someone needs help, medical or otherwise, Laurie is there. Regardless of if she is being asked to lead, partner or support, Laurie only cares that the students at Woodland are cared for and the employees are supported.
“Regardless of the pace of the day, Laurie makes time for each person and makes sure that people leave her presence feeling valued, understood and cared for,” shared Dr. Salwiesz. Laurie is described by her colleagues as an eternal optimist and has the best laugh in the school building. Woodland Elementary School is extraordinarily lucky to have Laurie as a part of our family.
