PHS 2022 Hall of Fame Induction Dinner & Ceremony Feb. 17

Perrysburg High School Athletics is proud to announce the Perrysburg Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022. Congratulations to Ayokunle Olatunji “TJ” Fatinikun ’09, Charlie Hughes ’10, Ray Pohlman – Honorary PHS Graduate ’15, Marsha Swanson ’95, Graham Weaver ’90, Kurt Wells ’03 and the 2001 PHS Boys Soccer Team.
 
On Friday, February 17th at 5:00 p.m. there will be an induction dinner at Holiday Inn & Suites (27355 Carronade Dr, Perrysburg OH 43551). The community is invited to attend the dinner and ceremony. Tickets are $35 per person and may be ordered online at https://www.perrysburgschools.net/OnlineTicketPurchase.aspx. Admission to the basketball game remains the same at $7 for adults.
 
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 17th at Holiday Inn & Suites. A welcome and dinner will start at 5:00 p.m. with inductions to take place at 6:00 p.m. for ticket holders. We will also honor the inductees at the Varsity Boys Basketball Game at halftime (approximately 8:15 p.m.). Dinner tickets include admission to the basketball game.

Anyone kindergarten or older will need a dinner ticket. If you are in need of a child dinner for anyone younger than kindergarten, please contact Morgan Miller at [email protected] for a code to receive a discounted child plate.

Ayokunle Olatunji “TJ” Fatinikun
Class of 2009


TJ Fatinikun is a 2009 graduate of Perrysburg High School. While attending PHS he earned 3 varsity letters in Football.
 
During his time playing football at PHS, TJ was named 1st Team All-NLL, 1st Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-State. He also played basketball and ran track while at Perrysburg, and was a member of the DECA team.
 
After Graduating from Perrysburg, TJ attended The University of Toledo, where he majored in Communication and played football from 2009-2013. He was 2-time All-MAC in 2010 and 2011 and was a 2010 Academic All-MAC award recipient. After his time at Toledo, TJ went on to play a season in the Arena Football League in 2014 before being signed to the NFL by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played from 2014-2016.
 
TJ continues to give back to the community through his T-Fat’s Faith and Hustle Youth Development Camp, which helps build character and attitude. TJ lives in Tampa where he owns T-Fat’s Auto Spa, a German and Domestic car detail and protection company. His fondest memory of Perrysburg was sharing the football field with his brother Ore. Perrysburg will always be special to TJ.
 
 
Charlie Hughes
Class of 2010

 
Charlie Hughes is a 2010 graduate of Perrysburg High School. While attending PHS he earned 3 varsity letters in basketball and is the PHS All-Time Leading Scorer.
 
Charlie was a 2 time NLL Champion in 2008 and 2010 and a 2 time Team Captain. He was 2nd Team All-NLL in 2008, and 1st Team All-NLL in 2009 and 2010. He also earned 1st Team All-District and Toledo Blade Team in 2010. During his time at PHS, Charlie was also the Student Council Vice President and Homecoming King.
 
Charlie Attended University of Chicago where he played 4 years of basketball, earning Team Captain for 2 years and being named the 2013 Team MVP.
 
After his 4 years at University of Chicago, Charlie attended UCLA Law and UCLA Anderson School of Management. He currently lives in San Francisco with his girlfriend Kyun and works at Kirkland & Ellis as a corporate attorney and participates in the Kirkland Pro Bono Program. His fondest memory of Perrysburg ws going 17-0 in 8th grade and winning the NLL Championship.
 
 
 
Ray Pohlman
Honorary PHS Graduate 2015

Ray Pohlman’s impact on Perrysburg Athletics reaches far and wide. He began his career as an assistant wrestling, track and football coach, eventually serving as Head Football Coach from 1996-2000. He also started the Regional All-Star Football Game held right here at Widdel Field at Steinecker Stadium and helped coach in the Ohio North-South All-Star Game in 2000-2001.
 
Ray’s other accomplishments include:
-    Coordinating the 1st After Prom at PHS
-    Awarded Outstanding Educator Award in 1988
-    Awarded the George C. Munger Outstanding Educator in 1995
-    Instrumental in the installation of the Turf at Steinecker Stadium, as well as the athletic facilities at the High School and the Huskisson Athletic Center at the football field
-    He has also been inducted into the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame and went on to serve as the President for the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame - Toledo “Wistert Chapter”
-    Earned the NFF “Distinguished Service Award” in 2011-2012
 
Ray Attended Bluffton University where he played football for 4 years as a defensive back and earned his BA in Mathematics and Bowling Green State University for his MA in Education Guidance and Counseling. Ray spent 36 years as an educator in Perrysburg Schools, 27 years as a math teacher, 7 years as Assistant Athletic Director and 11 years as Athletic Director. Ray is a 2015 Honorary Graduate of Perrysburg High School and has been elected as a Member of the Perrysburg Board of Education since 2016.
 
Ray is Married to Kim Pohlman and they have 3 children: Cori, Brett and Kristi, and 6 grandchildren: Mackenzie, Peyton, Taylor, Trent, Kylee and Audrey.
 
 
 
Marsha Swanson
Class of 1995

 
Marsha Swanson is a 1995 graduate of Perrysburg High School. While attending PHS she earned 5 Varsity letters while participating in Volleyball and Softball.
 
For Volleyball, Marsha was Honorable Mention All-League in ‘92-’93, 2nd team All-League and Honorable Mention All-District in ‘93-’94, and 1st Team All-League, 1st Team All-District, and 3rd Team All-State in ‘94-’95, as well as Co-Captain for the ‘94-’95 season. She also received 1st Team All-League in 1994 for softball. Marsha was also named the PHS Outstanding Senior in 1995.
 
Marsha attended The University of Toledo where she played 4 years of Volleyball and was named a Co-Captain.
 
Marsha returned to live in Perrysburg with her husband Nick and their 2 children, Grey and Josie. She currently teaches at Hull Prairie Intermediate School and coaches Junior Jackets girls basketball, VolleyJackets girls volleyball and volunteers for Safety Town.
 
Graham Weaver
Class of 1990


Graham Weaver is a 1990 graduate of Perrysburg High School. While attending PHS he earned 6 varsity letters while playing tennis and wrestling.

Graham was the Tennis Team Captain in 1989 and 1990 as well as the #1 singles on the team in 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990. Graham was Singles League Champion in 1988 and 1990. He was also part of the Team League Champion in 1988, 1989 and 1990, Regional and District Champion in 1988 and State Qualifier in 1987, 1988 and 1989. Graham was also the class Salutatorian and a Coca Cola National Scholar.

After graduating from PHS Graham attended Princeton University where he was captain of the National Championship Lightweight Crew Team in 1994 and earned numerous awards and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with his Bachelors of Science in Engineering. Graham then went on to get his MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Currently, Graham works at Alpine Investments, a San Francisco based private equity firm and lectures two courses on management, leadership and entrepreneurship at Stanford.

 
Kurt Wells
Class of 2003


Kurt Wells is a 2003 graduate of Perrysburg High School. While attending PHS he earned 3 Varsity letters playing baseball.
 
Kurt was 1st Team All-League ‘02 and ’03, 1st Team All Wood County ‘02 and ’03 and 2nd Team All-District in ‘02, and 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All-Ohio in ‘03. Kurt was also a member of Team Ohio in the Sunbelt Classic Baseball Tournament. Kurt holds the PHS single season hits and single season RBI records along with being the PHS career batting average record holder.
 
Kurt attended Bowling Green University where he was a 4 year member of the BGSU baseball team and earned MAC Player of the Week twice in 2007.
 
Kurt has worked in banking and insurance since graduating from BGSU and now lives in Pittsburgh, where he is married to his wife Kelly and had their first child in June of 2022.

Boys Soccer Team


The 2001 Boys Soccer Team was the State Runner-Up.
