Dear Families, Employees, and Community Members,
I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued dedication and resilience as we navigate the financial challenges facing our school district. We recognize the difficulties that the loss of the operational levy in November has created, and we deeply appreciate the commitment you bring to supporting our students every day.
As you are aware, a number of cost-saving measures were necessary to address our financial situation. One of those measures was elementary redistricting, which is anticipated to result in estimated annual savings of approximately $505,000 to $630,000 through reductions in school bus routes and elementary grade level sections. These savings allow us to reverse a limited set of program reductions that were previously necessary due to our budget shortfall.
We are pleased to share that we are anticipating that we will be able to restore the following staff positions and programs:

SAFE: Sustained Access Fund for Extracurriculars Program
Perrysburg Schools plans to reinstate freshman athletic teams and Winter One Acts by utilizing a hybrid model to blend participation fees from families of participants with a structured donation system supported by the Perrysburg Schools Foundation (PSF). This will provide a stable funding source while allowing community contributions to support students in need as an essential safety net for all student athletes, performers and their families who may face barriers to participating.
Program | Cost to Restore | Total # of Participants 9-12 | Additional Per-Student Cost | Total Participation Fee |
Freshman Sports | $70,000 | 1,088 athletes | $64 | $214 |
Winter One Acts | $9,500 | 207 students | $46 | $46 |
| Individual Max | Family Max | Last Year Ind./Family Max |
Athletics | $428 | $505 | $150/$225 |
Performing Arts | $92 | $138 | $0 |
Combined (Athletic and Performing Arts Combined for a Year - Not to Exceed) | $428 | $505 | |
While we recognize that many difficult decisions still lie ahead, we hope this news provides some relief as we work to maintain important student programs and services. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and unwavering commitment to our students and families.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
