Girls Cross Country
The Perrysburg Girls’ Cross Country Team is off to a wonderful start despite so many uncertainties this year. Coming into this season, the Lady Jackets were ranked 15th in the state after their incredible finish last year, finishing 12th in the state with the youngest team to qualify for state championships in 2019. This year promises to be even better with the addition of a powerful group of incoming freshman runners along with the deepest pool of talent in northwest Ohio.

This season, the girls’ cross country team has swept all of their first four Invitationals. With their top 5 runners (the first 5 places for each team are what the scores are based on in cross country) usually finishing in the top 15-20 out of a field that might have as many as 120 runners in it. The team is led by Junior Aubrey Duhaime, who now holds the 2nd spot at Perrysburg, for all-time top ten runners in school history with a time of 18:35. In addition, runners Maddie Wagoner (senior), Brooke Daudelin (Sophomore), Anna Dalton (Freshman), Sophie Smith (Sophomore), Annasophia Gower (Sophomore) and Aubrey Wyckoff (Freshman) also round off the current top runners for this season. In their most recent meet, The Chet Sullwood Invitational, the girls’ cross country team swept all three races in the Varsity and two Junior Varsity races. This includes the first JV race where the girls took the first 10 places in the race led by Ella Sibbersen, Victoria Michalak and Hailey Lambdin. Multiple personal records were set by many girls during this race.

The team is led by Head Coach Jon Monheim and assistant coaches Ed Osborne and Steve Slivka, who have helped the student athletes train and develop into one of the top programs in the State of Ohio. Coach Monheim has coached for 26 years with 11 of those years at Perrysburg. Coach Osborne has been with the program for 8 years and Coach Slivka for 3 years.
