Student Spotlight
Shahad Al-Mutair
Second Grade
Frank Elementary School

Shahad Al-Mutair smilingShahad Al-Mutair, a second grade student at Frank Elementary School, is someone who embodies the Jacket Way each and every day. She comes to school each day with a positive attitude and is very helpful to her classmates. She is kind, hardworking and always gives a great effort in class.

“Recently, after learning about the American Flag on Constitution Day, she was asked if she would like to share with her classmates about her home country of Saudi Arabia,” shared Jason Thomas, Second Grade Teacher, Frank Elementary School. “With a big smile on her face, Shahad eagerly accepted the invitation. She brought in pictures and presented for 15 minutes all about her home country to her excited classmates. She spoke confidently and answered all of her peers’ questions. It was wonderful! She is proud of where she comes from and her classmates loved learning about Saudi Arabia. Shahad embodies the Jacket Way and is an excellent role model for her peers.”

Shahad enjoys participating in Physical Education class. When she is not in school, she likes to ride her bicycle and play with her brothers and sisters. She also loves to help her mom and dad with their garden.

We’re so proud of you, Shahad!

Employee Spotlight
Crystal Barringer
Health Aid/Nurse
Hull Prairie Intermediate School

Crystal Barringer smilingAccording to Crystal Barringer, the best part of being a school nurse is building relationships with students. She previously worked in pediatrics. “Although I enjoyed my job, the missing piece for me was the ability to provide follow-up care and to truly get to know the children. Working in a school allows me to get to know the students and to help them feel their best.”

“Coming back to school in 2020 has been easier knowing Crystal is a part of this HPI team,” shared Scott Best, Principal. “She cares about the staff and students, always keeping safety of all people as a priority. We are thankful for Crystal!”

Mrs. Barringer’s favorite place to visit is Disney World. Much of her time outside of school is spent at sporting events watching and cheering on her family. When time allows, one of the things she most enjoys is biking on the Slippery Elm Trail.

“I have had a heart for nursing for as long as I can remember,” Mrs. Barringer shared. “I can't imagine doing anything different and consider it an incredible blessing that I get to do this every day.”
