Retirees & Staff honor Former Woodland Principal’s Contribution to Students in Need
Larry Studor and retired employees

When former Woodland Principal Mr. Larry Studer retired in 1993, in lieu of a retirement gift, he asked that any donations be used to help Woodland children. That was the beginning of their Studer Foundation, which has continued to be funded through retiree donations, a staff auction and other contributions. Annually, the Studer Foundation helps approximately 30 families during the holidays, family crises and financial hard times. All this came about from one person wanting to help, and has continued due to the generosity of the Woodland community.

“This is an incredible example of one person’s actions continuing to influence people almost 25 years later,” shared Brook Price, Woodland Elementary School Principal. Mr. Studer and his wife recently visited Woodland and were surprised to discover that over 20 retired staff members who worked with him over the years were on hand to surprise him. Everyone had a wonderful time reminiscing, catching up with old friends and touring all the changes that have been made to Woodland over the years. Mrs. Price thanked Mr. Studer for the powerful impact his fund has made on students and their families.
