6th Grader at PJHS wins Spelling Bee
The Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West recently held a regional Spelling Bee at the Maumee Indoor Theater for area school districts. 68 students from 31 different schools participated. After seven rounds of competition, the winner was Srivatsav Vuppala, 6th grader from Perrysburg Junior High School. Brianna Kraus, 7th grader at PJHS finished in 5th place.

The Perrysburg Board of Education recognized both students at their March 20 meeting.

At the 2017 Blade Northwest Ohio Championship Spelling Bee, Srivatsav Vuppala then went on to place first among the top thirteen competitors who will move on to the next level of competition, the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. on May 28, where he will compete for a $40,000 grand prize.

We’re so proud of you, Brianna and Srivatsav!
