PHS hosts OMEA Northwest Region Orchestra
PHS Students in Northwest Region Orchestra

On Sunday November 20, students from Perrysburg High School band and orchestra participated in the 2016 Northwest Region Orchestra hosted at Perrysburg High School by PHS Orchestra Director Michael Smith. The guest conductor for the event was Mr. Soo Han, Director of Orchestras at Carmel High in Carmel, Indiana. Music selections included: Music from The Royal Fireworks Overture by G.F. Handel; Irish Tune from County Derry by Percy Aldridge Grainger; Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity by Gustav Holst and Conga del Fuego Nuevo for Orchestra by Arturo Marquez.

The PHS Students who participated included: Violins: Nathan Bourgeois, Erin Gardiner, Megan Graham, Grace Ann Nofziger, Gabby Mancini, Claire Pilcher, Ashley Shim, Paige Stine and George Willis. Violas: Claire Hefner, Helena Hickman, Erin Kulmatycki, Ben Martz, Jacob Neidt, Lauren Rogers, Allison Selley and Emma Viles. Cellos: James Corbo, Oliver Durham, Elaine Park, Megan Smith and Ralph Zhang. Bass: Ethan Best, Alex Gauthier, Hunter Logan, Connor Muck and Karter Seitz. Harp: Hannah Kloster and Maia Williams. Flute: Emmy Carns. Clarinet: Madison Brickner. Trumpets: Marcus Doore, Brock Laurer and Nathan Rowland Miller. Horn: Michael Browder. Trombone: Ryan Reffert.

If you would like to hear many of these wonderful high school musicians, please join us on Thursday December 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Perrysburg High School for “Celebrate The Season” and also Sunday December 11 at The First United Methodist Church Perrysburg at 2:30 p.m. for “Rejoice! A Holiday Concert” with The Perrysburg Symphony Chorale. Both concerts are free and donations accepted. Happy Holidays!
