Description:
Perrysburg High School will host a Transition Night on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Perrysburg High School Media Center. Current students as well as anyone in the area who is interested are welcome to attend to discover services available for youth transitioning from high school into adulthood. The event is free and open to the public.

“The meeting is geared toward parents/guardians, students, teachers and community members primarily in Wood County who would like more information on local support agencies,” explained Analisa Turnow, Venture Bound Transition Coordinator, Perrysburg High School. “The goal of this new event is to raise awareness on how to support all students who have diverse needs so they may gain independence and competitive employment.”

The event will feature the following 10-minute presentations from 6:30-7:30 p.m. followed by networking with the represented agencies to make connections and ask individual questions:

=      Making Independence Possible for All Students - Mallory Tarr, The Ability Center
=      Using Public Transportation - Kristen Gerwin, Mobility Management
=      Signs, Symptoms and Resources for Mental Health - Sara Stockwell, Perrysburg Schools
=      Finding Meaningful Employment for All Students - Merriam Kindle, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD)
=      Creating Partnerships and Advocacy for Students - Katie Kramer, Wood County Board of DD
