Seussical the Musical will come alive at Perrysburg Junior High School when 113 junior high students take the stage in March to bring this dynamic storyline to life! The show will feature beautiful costumes and set design as well as a live orchestra pit, with student musicians who auditioned to play along with professional musicians.
Performances will be held Friday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and will be available at PJHS Monday, March 2 from 4-6 p.m.; Wednesday, March 4 from 6-8 p.m. and at the door starting one hour before each show.
Dr. Seuss had a wonderful way of using childlike stories to convey life-lessons that anyone, at any age, can appreciate. Seussical weaves together a number of popular Dr. Seuss books to create a dynamic storyline including Horton Hears a Who and Horton Hatches the Egg, The Cat in the Hat, and Oh, The Thinks You Can Think! You’ll even catch a glimpse of the Grinch (How The Grinch Stole Christmas) and, if you’re really lucky, you might even get a taste of some Green Eggs and Ham!
The Faculty Directors, Katherine Driscoll and Nicole Mohr, have been doing a Seuss-tastic job preparing the students, who have been working hard to perfect their parts. Ms. Driscoll said: “We are thrilled to share the story of Seussical with our students and the community. With the vast amount of talent at PJHS, we made the decision to undertake a full version of Seussical. This full version doesn’t simplify or eliminate elements and characters of the musical like a ‘junior’ version, which is typically performed in Junior High.”
