Program Spotlight
Enrichment Schedule
Perrysburg High School

A Naviance demonstrationAfter almost two years of research and meetings, Perrysburg High School began an Enrichment Schedule in Fall 2012. It takes place on a dozen weeks of the school year as scheduled annually. On the Wednesdays of those weeks, even numbered classes meet for 90 minutes each and on Thursdays, odd numbered classes meet for 90 minutes each. On Enrichment Weeks classes go from meeting in five classes for 50 minutes (250 minutes) to three classes of 50 minutes and one class of 90 minutes (240).

Schools that have made the most dramatic improvement in student achievement create time for teacher collaboration, and the Enrichment Schedule is one way to do this. During enrichment time, teachers work together to ensure all teachers are using a common curriculum and assessing it in a consistent manner, which ensures students are learning the material at the level that will make them most successful. While teachers are meeting for the first two hours of the school day on Enrichment Days, students have class meetings, work on Naviance (college application software), Jostens, SAT preparation and topical meetings.

Pam Addy
Bus Driver
Perrysburg Schools Transportation Department

Pam AddyPam Addy has been with Perrysburg Schools for 40 years, transporting students safely to school each day. Pam cares tremendously for “her” students as well as her co-workers. Pam knows each student on her bus by name every school year. She goes out of her way to know bits of information about each student to make their day better.

“We estimated that Pam has transported at least 2,000 students safely to and from school throughout her career,” shared Valerie Weber, Transportation Department Secretary. “Pam is an integral team member of the transportation staff. She has trained numerous new bus drivers and they all carry on her exemplary quality. Pam is a wealth of knowledge for this department and is patient with everyone who comes to her with questions and requests for assistance.”
