Alleged Threat Reported at PHS Unfounded

Today, February 23, 2018, an alleged threat was reported at Perrysburg High School that was determined to be not credible. The threat was made via social media. The police department was immediately contacted and an investigation was conducted by law enforcement and school officials. The student was immediately identified, brought into custody and subsequently arrested for inducing panic, though the threat was unfounded.

Schools across the country, including many in our area, have arrested students this week for making threats. We are encouraging parents and guardians to talk to your children about the serious and life-changing consequences that may result from making a threat, regardless of if it was meant “as a joke.” We also encourage everyone to continue to report any threats you witness, whether you think it may be a joke or not. We treat every threat with the utmost seriousness and will immediately investigate.
