Cast announced for PHS’s ‘Leading Ladies’

Perrysburg High School Theatre Department ’s production of Leading Ladies will be brought to life by a talented cast and crew.

Performed against a cozy set, each actor brings personality to the stage that will leave the audience howling with laughter. The cast includes Grace Davis as Meg, Andrew Hogle as Leo, Bennett Bernhoft as Jack, Kate Ozimek as Audrey, Elliott Schmittenberg as Duncan, Emma Brown as Florence, Grant Hayward as Doc, James Bellavia as Butch and Luke Knight as Frank. Student directors are Brooklyn Burns and Luke Knight. Ensuring for a smooth execution of the production are stage manager Jacob Prokup and assistant stage managers Noah Bunting and Erica Weckle.

Set in the 1950s, Leading Ladies focuses on two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, who find their careers in a rut. They are currently performing “Scenes from Shakespeare” on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, Pennsylvania is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, the actors resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. Hilarity ensues when it turns out the relatives are actually nieces and not nephews. Things get even more complicated when Leo falls madly in love with the old lady’s vivacious niece, Meg (Grace Davis), who's engaged to the local minister.

This hilarious comedy by the author of Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo will come to life under the direction of Rob Gentry and Deb Drew and student directors Brooklyn Burns and Luke Knight.

Leading Ladies will be performed Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 4 at 2:30 p.m. at Perrysburg High School (13385 Roachton Road). Online ticket sales begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 21 at: www.TinyUrl.com/PerrysburgTheatre. Tickets may also be purchased at the box office one hour prior to the performance. Tickets are $11 and all seats general admission. Senior Stinger Activity passes are accepted at the box office.
