Perrysburg High School prepares for Leading Ladies

Perrysburg High School Theatre Department is preparing for its first production of the 2018-19 season: Leading Ladies, a comedy by Ken Ludwig.

Set in the 1950s, Leading Ladies focuses on two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, who find their careers in a rut. They are currently performing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, Pennsylvania is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, the actors resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. Hilarity ensues when it turns out the relatives are actually nieces and not nephews. Things get even more complicated when Leo falls madly in love with the lady's vivacious niece, Meg, who's engaged to the local minister.

This hilarious comedy by the author of Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo will come to life under the direction of Rob Gentry and Deb Drew. Perry King, assistant scenic designer, is creating the set along with Perrysburg High School students.

Leading Ladies will be performed Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 4 at 2:30 p.m. at Perrysburg High School (13385 Roachton Road). Online ticket sales begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 21 at: www.TinyUrl.com/PerrysburgTheatre. Tickets may also be purchased at the box office one hour prior to the performance. Tickets are $11 and all seats general admission. Senior Stinger Activity passes are accepted at the box office.
