Girls in STEM Club visits Toledo Zoo

Perrysburg Junior High Girls in STEM Club attended an overnight ZooSnooze at the Toledo Zoo on Thursday, March 24. Highlights for the 17 members who attended included sleeping in the newly renovated aquarium, meeting with the elephant night zookeeper in the elephant exhibit, making enrichment activities for the animals, a night hike to learn/view nocturnal animals and an amazing behind the scenes tour of the aquarium. The girls were able to go above the tanks and learn about tank design and feeding habits and then ventured to the basement of the aquarium to learn about the plumbing and filtration required to maintain the facility. The field trip was funded by a generous grant from O-I.
