State Bank sponsors Anti-Bullying Speaker

On September 13-15, Perrysburg Schools will welcome Jodee Blanco, one of the country’s foremost voices on the subject of school bullying. Ms. Blanco is the author of The New York Times bestseller, Please Stop Laughing At Me… One Woman’s Inspirational Story and the award winning sequel, Please Stop Laughing at Us. State Bank, the Presenting Sponsor, made this visit possible.

The timing for these talks is coordinated with the rollout of The Jacket Way to students this year in Perrysburg Schools. The Jacket Way is based upon the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports model, which sets out student and adult expectations to create a culture best suited for students to be academically, emotionally and socially successful. This year, Perrysburg students are learning the three R’s of The Jacket Way: Respectful, Responsible and Ready.

Ms. Blanco will present to students and faculty throughout her visit, which will culminate in a Community/Family Talk at Perrysburg High School (13385 Roachton Road) on Thursday, September 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The event is free and all members of the public are welcome to attend as space permits.
