New Kids on the Block Program August 15

Attention parents and students in grades 1-5 new to Perrysburg Schools: your child is invited!
On Monday, August 15, 2016 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. our four elementary schools offer a special program for new students called "New Kids On The Block." The program lasts an hour and is for any 1st-5th grader new to an elementary building, including both brand new move-ins to the community as well as those who are simply relocating from one of the other elementary schools in Perrysburg or a nearby community.

There will be a chance to meet other students at their grade level, many of whom were new last year. These students are called “Big Buddies.” They will talk with new students about what it's like being the “new kid” and help your child feel welcome in his or her new school.

We would like to share a meal together to provide interaction in a more casual setting. We plan to provide pizza. If this does not work for your child, you are more than welcome to pack a meal. Once the program is over, you may pick up your child.

Changing schools can be a very positive experience! We hope this program will help families and children adjust and thrive in their new school environment.

The event is organized by Elementary School Counselors Chris Harper (Fort Meigs), Maggie Collins (Frank), Jason Koval (Toth) and Nikki Ohms (Woodland).

We are looking forward to meeting you and your child!
