PJHS earns Momentum Award

Ohio’s State Board of Education has granted Perrysburg Junior High School the 2016 Momentum Award. The Momentum Award recognizes schools that have received A’s on every value-added measure included on the 2016 Ohio School Report Card. Perrysburg Junior High School’s report card for the 2015-2016 school year indicates that our pupils made greater than expected progress in reading and mathematics.

“For your students, you are keeping the learning momentum high!” stated Thomas Gunlock, President, State Board of Education, in a letter to Principal Brent Swartzmiller. “This is especially commendable because you no doubt have a diverse array of students whose educational backgrounds and learning needs vary. As a winner of a Momentum Award, you are part of a group of schools that is showing that children of every background and ability level can achieve.”

“We are very proud of this award,” stated Principal Swartzmiller. “It’s a testament to our teachers, support staff, families and volunteers for working so hard to ensure all of our students achieve their greatest potential.”
