PASSES

School Plant Passes will be issued by a teacher who desires a student to work during a specified period when the student is normally in Study Hall, or to send a student to a particular destination in the building. Other than when the pass is used to get a student you detained into class, the student is always to return the pass to the issuing teacher, who should check the times and signatures. Passes to remove students from study hall must be secured prior to the period during which the student desires to leave. School Plant Passes are for removal from Study Hall, the passes are NOT to be given to a student to be taken from a CLASS. The pass is to be completely filled out and signed by the teacher at the time the pass is to be issued. Do not fill out, sign, or stamp passes in advance.

When a teacher receives a pass from a student, the teacher should put the arrival time on, initial it, and return it to the teacher via the mailboxes.

All students leaving your classroom must have a pass and should leave his I.D. with you. Do not use any other objects to substitute for the hallway passes, admit passes, and office campus passes are official hall passes. There are no substitutes for the school plant passes.

Use hall passes sparingly. Many students know which teachers freely give their passes and will take advantage and abuse the privilege. It is suggested that a student leave his/her I.D. card with the teacher to insure the return of the pass.

Guidance passes are filled out by the students before or after school during their study hall period or issued the Guidance Office. Guidance passes are from Study Halls only. Only under extreme circumstances, i.e., the student does not have a study hall and he/she is a bus student, will a student be permitted to leave class for the Guidance Office. In addition, passes will be given to students wishing to see a college representative. Passes are given in advance; the student MAY leave class only with the classroom teacher's permission.
