Dear Parents and Friends of Frank Elementary:

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you and your child to Frank Elementary School this year. My name is Brent Swartzmiller and I am very excited to have the opportunity to serve as your child’s principal during the 2009-2010 school year! It is truly an honor and a privilege to work with you as partners in your child's educational journey.

As partners in your child's education, the faculty and staff of Frank Elementary School understand and value your role as a parent. We understand and respect the fact that you are your child's first teacher. Working together, our children have the best opportunity to reach their full potentials. With mutual respect and open lines of communication, your child's learning possibilities are endless! Together, we CAN and WILL make a difference.

If you should have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or visit me at school.

Yours in Education,
Mr. Brent Swartzmiller, Principal

TWO SCULPTORS

I dreamed I saw a studio
And watched two sculptors there.
The clay they used was a child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.

One was a teacher – the tools he used
Were books, music and art.
The other; a parent, worked with a guiding hand,
And a gentle, loving heart.

Day after day, the teacher toiled with a touch
That was careful, deft and sure,
While the parent labored by his side
And polished and smoothed it o’er.

And when at last, their task was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought.
For the things they had molded into the child
Could neither be sold or bought.

And each agreed they would have failed
If either had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school
And behind the teacher, the home.
